Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker

The Panasonic SD255 is a versatile breadmaker which can produce bread from a basic white loaf to a 100% rye, in as little as 2 hours using the high speed 'rapid bake' option.

The loaves it produces come in one of three sizes: medium (approxiately 450g), large (approx 1kg) and extra large (1.2kg), and you can choose to vary the crust colour from light, medium or dark.

As well as baking basic and wholewheat bread, this machine can also enliven the basic dough with raisins or nuts dispensed automatically.

Beyond the basic loaf, 'French' and 'Italian' types of bread can be made, and the dough-only options can be used to make pizza dough or dough for rolls or muffins, which can be baked later in an ordinary oven.

Baking bread on autopilot is easy with a 13 hour timer, meaning you can set and forget in the evening, and wake up to perfect warm bread in the morning.

This is far from the cheapest breadmaker available, but if you want to experiment with and enjoy plenty of different types of bread, then it's certainly worth a look.
